THE COURSESOur weekly all-inclusive holidays are designed so that guests arrive Saturday afternoon and get to know each other over an evening meal before the group work starts on Sunday morning. They will then run through to Friday evening, with the guests departing Saturday (offering 5 days tuition/1 rest day with excursion and 7 nights accommodation). The courses will incorporate excursions to suitable painting sites, to explore and express the colours and shapes of the surrounding areas. There will also be the opportunity to work traditionally or develop abstract interpretation. Formally structured groups for all levels of students are welcome. Janet will demonstrate techniques and guide students according to their individual needs.
A basic Watercolour starter pack of colour palette, brush and watercolour pad is provided within the cost of the holiday, however if you have favourite brushes or media bring them along. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you are in any doubt. Our main media is watercolour although we are flexible to your preferred requirements – please contact us as we are always happy to try and accommodate your needs. TUTOR – JANET LYLE BA HonsBorn in Beckenham, Kent. Janet moved to Cornwall with her family and developed a keen interest in botanical drawing, subsequently running a small craft business. Wishing to explore the representation of her immediate landscape on a larger scale Janet studied at Falmouth School of Arts for a 4 years degree course. Janet specialises in Printmaking alongside her continued work with Watercolour and drawing. She has run all ability workshops for the National Trust and taught Watercolour/drawing within the Adult Education System. Janet has exhibited in many galleries across Cornwall and the South of England including group shows as a member of St Ives Society of Artists, Penwith Printmakers, Porthmeor Print Workshop and Cornwall Craft Association.
